When the MANUAL RELEASE LEVER is in the “released” position, a safety interlock switch prevents the Solo XT550 from being driven. Do not leave the brake lever in the “released” position when the Solo XT550 is unattended. A small amount of current is required to power the interlock relay (even with the key switch off) which could eventually drain the batteries.
BATTERIES SECTION 10 The Solo XT550 is powered by two 12 volt “Deep Cycle” batteries (group 27 U-1 Gel). ConvaQuip Ind., Inc. strongly recommends the use of gel cell batteries. Gel batteries are sealed and do not require any water to be added. They are also safer and more convenient to handle since they are sealed and not subject to spilling.
FAILURE TO OBSERVE THIS WARNING MAY Figure 15 RESULT IN FIRE OR ELECTRICAL SHOCK. NOTE: Your Solo XT550 is equipped with a safety mechanism called a “Battery Charger Interlock.” This prevents the cart from being driven with the charger plugged in.
