Road Learning (If Equipped):
Press to display options such as
Edit Road Learning and Enable
Road Learning.
1. With Road Learning enabled, the
system automatically learns a
road that the vehicle has driven
on twice during one or more
ignition cycles. The vehicle must
start on a known road in the
database while driving to a
known road, tracing a path using
the GPS information to create
the learned road. The learned
road cannot be longer than
3 km (2 mi).
2. When the road has been
learned, it becomes part of the
map database. The map
database will use the learned
road if necessary to route a
shorter route.
3. While on route guidance and in
the map view, each learned road
will display as a pointer. Select a
pointer on the map, then press
the Save screen button to store
the selected learned roads to the
Address Book as a destination
when needed.
4. Not all roads can be learned.
Some conditions may prevent
roads from being learned.
Examples that would lead to the
prevention of learned roads are
parking lots and restaurants.
