One of the major aspects of the Martin M1 design is
ergonomics. A new, comfortable, low profile design with
proper spacing between faders and buttons insures operator
accuracy.
Too often smaller lighting desk designs have too many buttons
that are too close to each other. The result is a bad
compromise that is inefficient to operate.
After dozens of layout studies, the final Martin M1 design
achieves a perfect balance of buttons, faders and encoder
wheels.
Lifting and transporting the Martin M1 was also a
consideration. Because it is light weight, it can easily be moved
by a single person and is light enough to be checked in as
luggage at the airport.
