SPEAKER PLACEMENT
Think of your speakers' sound output like a flashlight beam shining at a 45 degree angle
from the speaker itself. Ideally your listening position should be within the beam
emanating from each speaker. The best speaker imaging will generally take place
where the beams from each speaker intersect. Your ear position should be taken into
consideration in both sitting and standing positions. Avoid mounting speakers in stud
cavities that contain electrical wiring, heating ducts, fire blocks, water pipes, etc. and
make sure the ceiling materials are sturdy enough to support the weight of the speaker.
Check to see if in-wall speaker back-boxes are required by the building code in your
area and install them if applicable.
