    If you do not plan to use hot water for a prolonged period, then you might choose to turn the heat pump off or decrease the temperature setting of the control several degrees to minimize energy consumption. Enviro-tex offers the following recommendations to help conserve energy and minimize the cost of operating your heat pump without sacrificing comfort.
