Inspect the sealants

windows and doors at least every
three months. If any of the following defects are evident during
inspection. the affected areas must be resealed.
• Excessive amount protruding from joints.
• Sealant cracked or peeling.
• Voids in sealant.
NOTE: Do not reseal the bottom flanges of windows and doors
Two sealant voids have been intentionally left in bottom
flange sealant to provide exterior drainage in the event
leakage. If any of these defects are present:
1. Use a plastic scraper to remove excess sealant.
2. Clean all areas to be resealed with mineral spirits and clear
rags. WARNING: MINERAL SPIRITS IS A FLAMMABLE
LIQUID. USE EXTREME CARE WHEN HANDLING AND
USING.
DO NOT EXPOSE TO OPEN FLAME, SPARKS, OR
SMOKING MATERIALS. DO NOT USE IN UNVENTILATE[
AREAS. Make sure that all areas to be resealed are
absolutely dry before new sealant is applied.
3. Apply a continuous bead of clear G.E. or Dow·Corning
silicone sealant (available at most major hardware and paint
stores) into the joint, leaving a little excess. Directly after
application, tool the silicone into the joint with a wet finger
tip.
4. Allow the sealant to set for 24 hours before washing or
waxing the vehicle.
REPAIRS
Your dealer should be able to perform most repairs or service
required for your motor home. Repair or service for warranted
appliances in your motor home will normally be handled through
the appliance manufacturer in accordance with warranty
instructions provided in the Owner's Information Kit. Your dealer
will be glad to assist if you have difficulty obtaining service
through your appliance service representative.
Refer to your Chassis Operator's Manual and to other
information provided by the chassis manufacturer for chassis
service instructions.
Repair of glass, fiberglass, aluminum or some plastic
components can often be done by camper/RV service firms or by
automotive body shops. Check with your dealer or look in the
classified section of your telephone directory or newspaper.
Check all chassis body bolts once a year for tightness to prevent
vibration rattles.
