Proper Use and Care of the
Seat-Belt System
To gain maximum effectiveness from the
seat-belt system, follow these suggestions:
• Use the belts at all times-even on short
trips.
• Never use the same belt for more than
one person at a time.
• Keep sharp edges and damaging objects
away from the belts and other parts of the
restraint system.
• Periodically inspect belt webbing, an-
chors, buckles and all other parts for
signs of wear, damage, and weakness.
Replace questionable parts immediately.
• To clean the belt webbing, use any mild
soap solution recommended for cleaning
upholstery and carpets; follow the instruc-
tions provided with the soap. Do not
bleach or redye the webbing because
this may weaken it.
• No modifications or additions should be
made by the user.
• After wearing a seat belt, make sure it is
not caught on the adjusting levers or
elsewhere.
