    Thank you for choosing Defy Congratulations, you have purchased one of the finest and most modern washing machines that to- day’s technology can produce. You and your machine are going to make a great team together. But first it will pay if you really get to know each other. This manual will tell you all you need to know about your machine, what it will do and how to do it.

    POSITIONING THE MACHINE • The machine must stand firmly on the floor. Any instability will negatively effect its performance. • To level the machine, loosen the plastic lock nuts on the ad- justable feet using the spanner supplied. Rotate the feet until the machine stands firm and level.

    Do not connect the machine through a double adaptor. It requires a dedicated power point • If the power cord should ever need replacing, use only a genuine cord ( Type ‘X’) available from the nearest Defy Service Centre. Know your machine EXTERIOR Inlet hose connected to a cold water tap.

Illuminated windows on the display panel will confirm your selection.

    The Defy Kombomaid is a combination Washer / Dryer. Essentially it has all the features and operating sequences of the Defy Maximaid 1100 plus the addi- tional benefits of being able to dry the wash-load automatically at the end of the wash cycle or of be- ing operated solely as a dryer.
  • Page 12 If it is necessary to add clothes during the DELAYED START period, the programme and the de- lay time must be re-selected RINSE AND SPIN ( Maximaid 1100 only) Use this programme for freshening and softening clothing that is not dirty.

    Problem washing—Check list GREASY STAINS ON WASHING • Use more detergent if washing is heavily soiled. • Use both pre-wash and main wash programmes. • Check that the machine is not overloaded. GREY DIRTY LOOKING WASHING • Use more detergent if the washing is heavily soiled or if the machine is located in a hard water area.
