Please take the time to read this user manual to familiarize yourself with the products features, setup and use.   • Page 6 Features Continued Manual RRC (Room Response Compensation) Software The Q Series built-in DSP gives you extraordinary control over the speakersʼ accuracy and response in your mixing environment. Enter your roomʻs dimensions into the included software, and the monitors digitally compensate for three standing waves (front to back wall, left to right wall, and floor to ceiling).
  • Page 7 Position the monitors on speaker stands or on top of your mixing console. It does not matter which speaker is positioned left or right as each unit is physically identical. The Q Series monitors are also equipped with the ability to mount them via OmniMount™ hardware. The screw threading is 5/16”.
  • Page 8 Set Group ID Switches The Q Series line of monitors allows you to setup and save different group settings within a room. For example, you might have a stereo setup as Group 1 and a 5.1 setup as Group 2. Leave these ID switches set to the factory default (Group 1) until you install the Equator Control software and only if you intend to setup up multiple speaker groups within your room.
  • Page 9 Connect the outputs of your playback device or mixing console to the appropriate analog audio input on the back of each monitor. The Q Series monitors can accomodate both XLR and 1/4” cables that are wired for either balanced or unbalanced operation. For balanced operation, consult the Input Connector Wiring Input Connector Wiring diagram on the back panel of a Q monitor.

The left speaker is selected. The Selected Speaker tab reflects the Filter Response for the selected speaker based on the room dimensions and speaker location entered in tab 3 (Manual RRC).

Each parameter is user-editable by mouse clicking inside the desired cell and manually entering a new value. The Bypass RRC button will bypass all compensation.
  • Page 23 Software Operation Continued Software Operation Continued Select the tab labeled Tone Contour Apply Tone Controls To: Use this drop-down menu to select which section of your system you wish to apply tonal contour to. You select the front speakers, surround speakers, subwoofers, or all speakers. Tone contour adjustments can be made by placing your mouse over the desired knob and dragging your mouse up or down.
  • Page 24 The factory default setting is ALL_CONTROLS_FLAT. The software gives you the ability to save the compensated data generated by following this user guide and running through tabs 1 - 8. You can save this RMC file to the Equator Audio folder. This folder holds the factory-flat default file ALL_CONTROL_FLAT.RMC.
