1. Place the battery in the associated slot at the back of the camera.

5. Set the Mode switch to the Video setting (a movie camera icon will be displayed). The movie recording will be stored
on the internal hard drive.
Movies may be recorded in either 4:3 or 16:9 format (16:9 = Wide Screen).
6. Using the Navigation button, select the desired format.
Record movies you intend to play back on a 4:3 television in the 4:3 format. Try to record in one format only, as
combining the two formats or switching between them may result in problems during editing and burning.
7. Select the AUTO button. The camera will then automatically manage aspects such as lighting and focus.
8. Press the 'rec/snap' button to start recording the movie.
9. Press the 'rec/snap' button again to stop recording the movie.
10. Zooming in and out may be done using the zoom button. This button also doubles as volume control during
playback.
You can also make photos with this camera.
11. Set the Mode switch to the PHOTO setting (a photo camera icon will be displayed).
12. Press the 'rec/snap' button to take a photo. The images will be saved to the internal hard drive.
