Built-in GPS Mapping
When using Maps 1.0 for the first time, you may need to define an Internet access point for downloading map
directions,
discover
information for your current location. To change the default access point, select:
> Maps 1.0

navigation, so you can see
where you are on a map, plan
your journey, get directions
to specific addresses when
you're travelling.
NOTE: Your device may have a newer version of maps. Some screenshots and menus may appear different to those described in the steps above.
* The availability and accuracy of GPS location services are dependent on wireless networks, satellite systems. It may not function in all areas or at all times.
You should never rely solely on GPS products for essential communications like emergencies.

You can also download maps by
using a wireless LAN connection.

Browse Maps
When you open Maps 1.0, you see an overview of the globe.
When your device finds the satellite signal, Maps 1.0 locates
your device and zooms to your current location. At the same
time, Maps 1.0 downloads the map of your current location.
The maps are automatically saved in the device memory or
on a compatible memory card (if inserted).
To move on the map, use the scroll keys. To view detailed
information of a location on the map, scroll to it and select
Show details. To return to your current location, select Back
or Options > Current location.
All maps downloaded by Maps 1.0 are free of charge, but
downloading may involve the transmission of data through
your service provider's network, so data transmission
charges may apply.
QUICK TIP!
Avoid surprises on your monthly bill! When using the Maps 1.0 application,
you can receive a note when your device starts to roam: select Options >
Settings > Network > Roaming warning > On.
