    Troubleshooting For your Notes Problem Action The motor hums, but the grain is not taken up. Simply turn the hopper towards 'coarse' until the grinding process begins. Then readjust to the de- sired texture. The motor binds during operation. Binding of the motor is generally caused by over- heating due to improper use. A built-in thermal cut-off switch stops the motor to prevent serious damage. Unplug the power cord and allow the mill to cool down for a few minutes. Thereafter, you should be able to resume milling. If the problem reoccurs, look for the cause: Is the grain too moist? Are the millstones or the mill chamber clogged? Is there a foreign object caught between the millstones?
