RF radiation to the human body, a very good antenna radiating efficiency is also obtained for long radio communications distance. • When using the FSG 7016 in buildings, vehicles or aircraft, the radio should always be operated on a suitable external - DC grounded - antenna. Assure appropriate lightning protection where elevated outdoor antennas are used.
The 'VOL' Control 4 will now control the audio level applied to the external loudspeaker or headset, as applicable. • When the FSG 7016 is operated with a combined speaker/ microphone (A/N F10168), receive is only audible in the speaker/ microphone.
• Verify that 'CH' switch 5 is set to the desired operating channel 1 … 16. • Monitor the appropriate channel whether it is busy or not! • Hold the transceiver FSG 7016 vertically in the left hand, with the microphone area 11 as close as possible to the upper lip.
• Connect an external microphone (4 … 600 Ohm, may be part of a headset or helmet) to the accessory socket 7 of transceiver FSG 7016. Align white dot of the cable connector with the white dot of the chassis accessory socket 7 .
Operation using a Headset or Helmet • When a headset or helmet with an external microphone is connected to the FSG 7016, both the radio's microphone and loudspeaker are automatically disabled. • The use of an external microphone always requires proper microphone sensitivity matching using the 'EXT MIC SENS' switch 6 , refer to paragraph 4.6.
