OPERATION
PLAYING A CD
1. Set
to the minimum
VOLUME
level and move
HOLD
position.
2. Press
and lift the disc
OPEN
compartment cover.
3. Carefully place the CD, label
side up, over the disc compart-
ment's center hub. Press down
slightly on the CD until it clicks
and lies flat in the compartment.
Then close the disc compart-
ment cover.
The display briefly shows a
flashing – –, then the total num-
ber of tracks and the CD's total
playing time. After about 10 sec-
onds, the CD player displays
briefly then turns off.
4. Press
to the off
shows a flashing – –, then the
first track begins to play. The
display shows the current track
number and the current track's
elapsed time.
5. Adjust the volume to a comfort-
able listening level.
• If you connected earphones,
amplified speakers, or a CD-
to-cassette adapter to the CD
player's

desired level.
• If you connected the CD
player's
amplified
home audio system, or your
car's stereo, use the volume
controls on those units to set
the
needed.
