    Android™ – what and why? Your Xperia smartphone from Sony runs on the Android platform. Android phones can perform many of the same functions as a computer and you can customise them to your own needs. For example, you can add and delete applications, or enhance existing applications to improve functionality.

    Getting started Assembly To remove the top cover • Using your thumbs, slide off the cover on the top of the phone. To insert the memory card and the micro SIM card Turn off your phone and remove the top cover from the back of the phone, then insert the memory card into its slot on the left side, with the gold-coloured contacts facing down.

Remove the top cover, then press against the edge of the memory card and release it. Draw the card outwards to remove it. To remove the micro SIM card Turn off your phone and remove the top cover, then pull out the micro SIM card holder.
