A RS232 interface is intended to connect two devices with maximal cable length 15 meters. An adapter E221 allows to integrate the RS232 devices into the Ethernet network thereby bridge long distances. -

Adapter can operate with full duplex with maximal bitrate 230kbps. The Ethernet layer can communicate with 10 and 100Mbps. 3.0 Installation This chapter describes the adapter E221 installation process.
