5. INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE

5.1 Daily Check
Check the following items before traveling. If you find anything abnormal, visit
your Karma wheelchair dealer for further inspection before using it.
Examine brakes, checking for wear, damage and misalignment. Replacing or
adjusting the brakes should be carried out by your approved repairer.
Check that the hand grips are not damaged and are securely bonded to the
push handles.
Check anti-tippers are not damaged and are securely attached.
Check that the anti-tippers' wheels and frame are not damaged and are
securely mounted.
Before using the wheelchair, make sure all nuts and bolts are tight. Check
all parts for damage or wear and have a qualified technician replace it if
necessary. Check all parts for proper adjustment. Inspect brakes for
proper operation.
The wheels and tires should be checked periodically for cracks and wear,
and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
A qualified technician can be found at an authorized distributor/dealer.
CAUTION:
Visit a Karma wheelchair dealer for inspection and maintenance if you find
anything abnormal.
5.2 Regular Maintenance Record
To make sure your wheelchair is in good condition, visit your Karma wheelchair
dealer regularly for maintenance (and keep records accordingly) every six
months after purchasing.
A maintenance/service fee may apply.
SUGGESTION:
Even if you don't use the vehicle for a long time, the wheelchair should still be
maintained regularly. You should clean your wheelchair regularly.
