Cable to connect the charger board to the Series 4000 timeclock’s main board It takes 24 hours for the Series 4000 timeclock to charge the backup battery after you install it. Also, if the battery ever becomes depleted (completely discharged) from use, allow 24 hours for the timeclock to recharge the battery.

Preparing an Installed Series 4000 Timeclock for Battery Installation If you have already installed the Series 4000 timeclock, do the following before you install the backup battery: 1. If necessary, collect data from the timeclock using your host application software.

Trace the cable back to the transformer, freeing the cable from the routing channel in the timeclock. b. Carefully lift the transformer up and out from behind the wire transformer clip, and out of the timeclock.

Otherwise, proceed to “Installing the Backup Battery Option,” beginning on page 8. a. Disconnect the battery charger board from the timeclock’s main board.

The illustrations also show the timeclock mounted to cover an AC outlet. However, this procedure applies to all power source scenarios. 1. If you are installing the Series 4000 timeclock and have mounted the base to the wall, perform this step.

Squeeze the clip to lock it into position under the two molded hooks in the base. 4. Plug the cables that came with the battery into the connectors on the charger board. Match the ends of each cable with the pin connectors on the board. ADP, Inc.

Installing the Backup Battery Option 5. Position the charger board in the base and secure it with the supplied screw. 6. Connect the charger board to the positive and negative terminals of the backup battery. Use the hooks molded into the base of the timeclock to secure the cable along its route.
