Hi, I have a PRO-TB model operator, and sometimes it works, and sometimes it does not. Can you please guide me in a repair direction? Thank you in advance.

Common repair solutions for intermittent functionality of the Micanan PRO-T model operator include:

1. Clutch Adjustment: Ensure the clutch is properly adjusted. Loosen the clutch nut, then gradually tighten until the door operates smoothly but can still slip if obstructed.

2. Brake Adjustment (for PRO-TB model): Check brake shoe contact and spring tension. Adjust the nylon lock nut on the brake spring bolt to ensure proper engagement and release of the brake.

3. Motor Direction: Verify motor rotation. For single-phase units, interchange black and white wires; for three-phase units, reverse any two power supply leads.

4. Limit Switch Wiring: Check limit switch connections. Interchange wires as needed (e.g., grey and red for open/close limits) if door does not stop at limits.

5. Limit Switch Cam Adjustment: Use the push-button station to move the door to full open/close positions and adjust cams accordingly.

These steps address mechanical and electrical causes of intermittent operation.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS WARNING TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH: READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS Never allow children to operate or play with door controls. Keep the remote control (where provided) away from children. Personnel should keep away from a door in motion and keep the moving door in sight until it is completely closed or opened. NO ONE SHOULD CROSS THE PATH OF A MOVING DOOR.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS WARNING DO NOT INSTALL THIS OPERATOR BEFORE READING THIS MANUAL CAREFULLY. Note: Installation of operator must be done by a qualified installer. Door must be properly installed and working smoothly. Remove all door locks prior to installation. Install control station away from all moving door parts, within sight of the door and a minimum of 5 ft (1.5 m) from the ground.
  • Page 7 PREPARATION: Lay out operator and trolley tracks on ground in front of door with door operator motor facing away from door. Install track spacers evenly to track assembly. Install 3/8” take-up bolt to carriage using two 3/8” hex nuts and lock washer provided. Slide trolley carriage through end of tracks towards operator with take-up bolt facing operator.
  • Page 8 WALL MOUNTING BRACKET AND OPERATOR INSTALLATION: NOTE: Trolley type operators should generally be mounted directly over the center of the door and the trolley tracks should clear the tracks by 2-1/2” (6.5 cm). IMPORTANT: For momentary activation on close, the MICANAN photobeams (or a Micanan 2-wire monitored edge), must be installed as part of the operator system. If a Micanan 2-wire monitored edge or the MICANAN infrared photobeam system is not installed (or not operating correctly), the operator will only operate in fault mode (constant pressure to close).

To test the photo system: Open the door to full open position. Close the door. When door is closing, obstruct the beam. The door should stop and reverse.
