When the CD does not function
When the CD section does not operate When the objective lens of the optical pickup is dirty,this section may not operate.Clean
the objective lens,and check the playback operation.When this section does not operate even after the above step is taken,check
the following items.
Remove the cabinet and follow the troubleshooting instructions.
"Track skipping and/or no TOC(Table Of Contents) may be caused by build up of dust other foreign matter on the laser pickup lens.
Before attempting any adjustment make certain that the lens is clean. If not, clean it as mentioned below."
Turn the power off.
Gently clean the lens with a lens cleaning tissue and a small amount of isopropyl alcohol.
Do not touch the lens with the bare hand.
Make sure that the disc is normal, and then set the FUNCTION switch to CD. Check the voltage on pins 14 of CNS 602.
Is the measured voltage as specified in circuit diagram?
Does the LCD work?
Does the laser come on in CD test mode "STEP 2"?
Does the CD test mode advance from "STEP3" to "STEP4".
Does the spindle motor rotate normally when the CD test mode
changes from "STEP 3" to "STEP 4"?
Is the (HF) output on pin 1 of IC 801 flat in CD test mode "S5"?
Is a sound heard when the optical pickup moves to the selected
place in the FF/REW mode after the servo test mode "STEP 5"
has been selected?
Does LCD track number indicator work properly?
Turn the power off and then back on. Does the unit initialize
properly and start playback when the PLAY key is pressed?
Arc the 1st and 2nd selections played in order in the FF mode?
Does playback continue for 30 seconds after the start of playback?
