use a single auxiliary battery or
Energizer of the same voltage as
the discharged battery, with suit-
able jumper cables.
• Make connections as detailed
below.
Jump Starting with
Auxiliary (Booster) Battery
If booster battery is part of another
vehicle's electrical system, booster
should be treated carefully when
using jumper cables. Follow exactly
the procedure outlined below,
being careful not to cause sparks:
1. Set parking brake and place
automatic
transmission
in
"PARK" ("NEUTRAL" for
manual transmission.)
2. Attach one end of one jumper
cable to the positive terminal of
the booster battery (identified by
"+"
or "P" on the battery case,
post or clamp) and the other end
of same cable to positive ter-
minal of discharged battery.
3. Attach one end at the remaining
cable to negative terminal ("-"
or "N") of booster battery, and
finally to negative terminal of
discharged battery-taking care
that jumper clamps do not con-
tact each other.

Reverse thIS sequence exactly
when removing the jumper cables.
