Mantel Clearances for Built-In Installation
If placing mantel above built-in fireplace, you must meet minimum clearance
between mantel shelf and top of fireplace opening.

If your installation does not meet the above minimum clearances, you must:
• raise the mantel to an acceptable height, OR
• remove the mantel.

INSTALLING GAS PIPING TO FIREPLACE LOCATION

A qualified service person must connect fireplace to gas supply.
Follow all local codes.
Never connect heater directly to the propane supply. This heater
requires an external regulator (not supplied). Install the external
regulator between the heater and propane supply.
Installation Items Needed
Before installing fireplace, make sure you have the items listed below.
• external regulator (supplied by
installer, see Figure 16, page 16)
• piping (check local codes)
• sealant (resistant to LP gas)
• manual shutoff valve *
• test gauge connection *
* An A.G.A. design-certified manual shutoff valve with 1/8" NPT tap is an acceptable
alternative to test gauge connection. Purchase the optional A.G.A. design-certified
manual shutoff valve from your dealer. See Accessories, page 32.
