    Putting into operation Inserting batteries 10. Loudspeaker 11. Switch for turning the microphone on and off This cassette player requires 4 R14/UM-2 batteries with 1.5 V for operation. 12. (Safety) Battery compartment Batteries are not included in delivery. The battery compartment can be found on the back of the device. Note For safety reasons, the battery compartment lid can only be opened with a tool. The screw rotation direction is marked with an arrow on the device. Press a screwdriver into the opening marked with the screwdriver symbol and simultaneously disengage screw and lid from the battery compartment. Check battery polarity (+ and –) before inserting batteries. See the illustration on the inside of the battery compartment lid for correct polarity. Warning Incorrectly inserting the batteries could cause damage to the device. After correctly inserting batteries, replace the battery compartment lid by sliding it onto the device again. The battery compartment is completely secured, when the lid clicks into place.
