Introduction to the Sylantro Communications System Physical Description Two different Sylantro 24-port adapters are available, one for analog devices (such as telephones, FAX machines, and modems) and one for digital telephones. Both adapters support 24 ports. The analog adapter has a 1U form factor and the digital adapter has a 2U form factor.

Customer telephones are connected to the punch-down block, not directly to the adapter. This configuration makes moving telephone equipment much easier.
(MGCP). Voice traffic is transmitted to and from a media gateway using real-time protocol (RTP). After the adapter is powered on and assigned an IP address, the adapter configuration is downloaded automatically from the Sylantro Control Server located on the service provider network. Minimal local configuration of the adapter is required.
