    WARNING Always spark plug wire and place wire where it can- not contact spark plug to prevent accidental starting when setting up, transporting, ad- justing or making repairs except carburetor adjustments. Because a chain saw is a high-speed wood- cutting tool, special safety precautions must be observed to reduce the risk of accidents.

    S The inertia activated chain brake is acti- vated if the front hand guard is pushed for- ward, either manually or by centrifugal force. S If the brake is already activated, it is disen- gaged by pulling the front hand guard back toward the front handle as far as possible.

    CHAIN SHARPENING Chain sharpening is a complicated task that requires special tools. We recommend that you refer chain sharpening to a professional chain sharpener.
