Toasting   b read  
1. Place the toaster upright, on a stable, level, heat resistant surface, clear of curtains and
other combustible materials. Don't put it on or near anything that could be damaged
even by moderate sources of heat.
2. Plug the cable into the power socket.
3. Place bread into the toasting slots (maximum thickness of bread 27mm).
4. Turn the browning control to the required setting (1 = light, 6 = dark)
5. Press the bread carriage handle down fully – it won't lock down unless the toaster is
connected to the electricity supply.
6. The eject light will come on.
When it's done, the toast will pop up, the eject light will go off, and the elements will

turn off automatically.
Eject  
To stop the toaster before it's finished, press the eject button. The toast will pop up,
and the elements will turn off.
Frozen   b read   *
1. This feature takes the guesswork out of toasting frozen bread.
2. Leave the browning control at your favoured setting, put the frozen bread into the
slots, lower the bread carriage handle and then press the * button.
3. The * light will come on, and the toasting time will be altered automatically to give
the same degree of browning you get with unfrozen bread.
Caution   d on't try to defrost bread – you'll probably damage the toaster
a) Toasting frozen bread changes ice to steam, which escapes via the toasting slots
b) Defrosting bread on a low setting changes ice to water, which drips into the
toaster, over the electronics and maybe the elements which will cause damage to the toaster.
 
Reheating   t oast  
1. You must only reheat plain, unbuttered toast and you should reheat toast at the
lowest setting.
