Chevy Colorado Grille Installation
1) Factory Grille Removal
1.1)
Remove the upper bumper cover.
The upper bumper cover of the Colorado holds the factory
grilles and will need to be removed. It is held in place by 11
clips (locations shown in Fig. 1) and there are no tools
needed to remove it. Four of these clips (In the bottom row
of Fig. 1, the inner 4) have a push tab that needs to be
pressed down and then in on. Do this to each of the four,
then unplug each upper light socket. Grasp the bumper
cover firmly at one of its corners and pull hard. You will hear
and feel the clips release. Repeat this around the bumper
until all clips are free.
BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING THE UPPER
BUMPER COVER FROM YOUR VEHICLE. THE PAINTED
FINISH OF YOUR VEHICLE IS EASILY DAMAGED, BUT
IF PROPER CARE IS TAKEN, YOU CAN REMOVE THE
GRILLES WITHOUT HARMING THE PAINT.

Remove the stock grille.
The stock grille has been fused into place by a series of tabs
that have been melted to create a bond. These are easily
broken which will release the grille from the bumper cover
(the factory grille can be re-installed by using adhesive or by
