    ENGLISH PREPARING FOR USE Machine Packaging The original packaging has been designed and constructed to protect the machine during transport. We recommend keeping the packaging material for possible future transport. Machine Installation Remove the drip tray with grill and the carafe from the packaging. Remove the machine from the packaging.
  • Page 15 ENGLISH Lift the left outer lid. Remove the water tank by using the handle incorporated on the inner lid. Rinse the water tank with fresh water. Fill the water tank with fresh drinking water up to the MAX level and put it back into the machine.

    ENGLISH USING THE MACHINE FOR THE FIRST TIME When using the machine for the fi rst time, the following activities need to happen: 1) You have to select the language. 2) The machine will perform an automatic rinse/cleaning cycle. 3) You need to perform a manual rinse cycle.     ENGLISH CHANGING COFFEE BEANS The machine comes with a removable coff ee bean hopper so you can easily switch from one type of coff ee bean to another and enjoy a diff erent coff ee taste. Note: You can buy an additional coff ee bean hopper as an accessory (CA6807). To preserve their taste, you can store coff ee beans in the bean hopper in the refrigerator.

    ENGLISH Saeco Adapting System Coff ee is a natural product and its characteristics may change according to its origin, blend and roast. The machine is equipped with a self-adjusting system that allows the use of all types of coff ee beans available on the market except for caramelized and fl avoured coff ee beans.

    ENGLISH CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE Daily Cleaning of the Machine Caution: Timely cleaning and maintenance of your machine is very important as it prolongs the life of your machine. The machine is continuously exposed to humidity, coff ee and limescale! The activities you need to perform and their frequency are described in detail in this chapter.
  • Page 73 ENGLISH Empty the coff ee grounds drawer and wash it with fresh water. Empty the drip tray (internal) and the lid and wash them with fresh water. Correctly reinstall all the components. Insert the drip tray and the coff ee grounds drawer and close the ser- vice door.

    ENGLISH Note: Perform this operation also when the full drip tray indicator is raised. Daily Cleaning of the Water Tank Remove the small white fi lter or the INTENZA+ water fi lter (if installed) from the water tank and wash both with fresh water. Put the small white fi lter back or the INTENZA+ water fi lter (if installed) in its housing by gently pressing and turning it at the same time.

Wash the suction tube with the fi tting thoroughly with fresh water. After installing the suction tube with the fi tting, insert the carafe dis- penser on the top of the carafe.

    ENGLISH Weekly Cleaning of the Milk Carafe The weekly cleaning is more thorough since all milk residues are removed from the dispenser. Press one of the release buttons to remove the top of the carafe as shown in the fi gures (A or B). Remove the lid.
  • Page 78 ENGLISH Remove the fi tting (B) from the suction tube. Detach the lid (C) from the milk carafe dispenser by slightly pressing on the sides while pushing downwards. Remove the milk frothing device (D) from the support (E). Remove the fi tting (F) from the milk frothing device by pulling it out- wards.

    ENGLISH Weekly Cleaning of the Brew Group The brew group should be cleaned every time the coff ee bean hopper is fi lled or at least once a week. Turn off the machine by pressing the “ ” button and remove the plug from the socket.
