Auto Closer Half-opened Door Prevention

The Lower Freezer and Vegetable Compartment are equipped with a dedicated auto closer (to prevent a half-
opened door).
The door closes automatically when the refrigerator detects that the door is not shut
properly.
If the door cannot be closed, an alarm consisting of short beeps sounds to inform the user
of half-opened door.
(The alarm may not sound if the gap is very small.)
- Please check if any food is stuck between the door and refrigerator.
- Please check if any food fell out of the case.
If yes, remove the food referring to Maintenance of electrical drawer unit on this page.
Notice
When the auto door function is stopped, the half-opened door prevention function is also stopped.
If the door is left open for more than 30 seconds, the door alarm will inform you that the door is open.
Clean the auto door unit when food fall onto or is caught in the upper part of the auto door unit and when
liquid is deposited on the auto door unit.
Unplug the power plug without fail.

Remove the spacious upper case,

the lower case or the tall storage
case.

Wipe off deposited liquid soup using

a soft and dry cloth.
Caution
Make sure that water never splash to the AUTO DOOR unit. Otherwise, it may cause malfunction.
Do not disassemble the AUTO DOOR unit. Otherwise, it may cause injury and/or malfunction.
Do not peel off stickers affi xed on the auto door unit.
Troubleshooting
When this happens
Noise is large.
There is an abnormal noise.
(These are not abnormal noise)
The compartment does not
open even if the electrical
drawer switch is pressed.
The auto door
compartment does not
open/close.
The auto door does not
open much.

Operation sound of the vegetable compartment is larger than the lower freezer .
Sound/noise type
Hitting sound (thumping sound)
Buzzing sound (whirring, grunt)
Is the AUTO DOOR light not lit? Turn on the light.
- Turn on the AUTO DOOR indicator lamp.
Is either one of the lower freezer or the vegetable compartment open?
- Close the open electrical drawer compartment and then press drawer switch for the
compartment you want to open.
Is any food or food bag caught on the compartment?
- Remove the Auto Door unit with reference to Maintenance and Care in this page.
Did a power failure occur or did the compartment knock against any obstacle
during electrical operation?
- The door does not open/close smoothly because the electrical drawer function is
stopped before the operation completes.
- Manually push in the door hard with strength. Otherwise, unplug the power plug with
the door drawn, and connect it after 10 seconds.
The door may not fully open depending on the amount of the stored food and
storage arrangement.
Make sure to disconnect the power plug from the power
outlet before starting maintenance to avoid injury.
Please check. This is the cause.
Cause of the sound/noise
This is the operating sound of the electrical drawer compartment.
This is the operating sound of the door.
