    14、Additional safety rules for generator ●ERMA generator is designed to give safe and dependable service if operated according to instructions. Read and understand the Owner’s Manual before operating the generator. Failure to do so could result in personal injury or equipment damage.

Let the engine cool before storing the generator indoors. The engine exhaust system will be heated during operation and remain hot immediately after stopping the engine.

    ② Check the fuel level. 1. Make sure the generator is turned off, by rotating the engine switch (7) to the ‘off’ position (Fig.D ). 2. Check the fuel by a visual check. Remove the fuel cap and fuel filter screen reviewing the fuel level (Fig.E).

    19、Starting the engine Before starting the engine, ensure you have filled the crankcase to the correct level with oil. Note. The crankcase is not filled with oil from the factory. Before starting, ensure that no electrical apparatus has been connected to the generator.
  • Page 26 Slowly pull the recoil starter until you feel it engage and then pull it briskly. Return the recoil starter gently and slowly to the original position by hand (Fig.J). Note. When the motor is started for the very first time, it will require a number of attempts to start until the fuel has traveled from the tank to the motor.

    20、Stop the engine 1. Before stopping, ensure that no electrical apparatus is connected to the generator. 2. Turn the engine switch (7) to the ‘off’ position (Fig.L). 3. Turn the fuel (2) vent lever to the ‘off’ position (Fig.M). Connecting apparatus to the generator Please note that it is not recommended to run the unit over its max output of 1800W for more than a maximum of 20 minutes.

    21、AC Applications 1. Start the engine. Make sure the green output indicator light (18) comes on (it may take up to 3 seconds). Allow the motor to run for a couple of minutes to warm up prior to connecting any apparatus to the generator. 2.

    WARNING. Prior to connecting any appliance to the generator, check the rating label of the appliance. The generator is rated at 1600W so if the appliance being connected is higher than 1600W, the protective cut out may switch the generator off to prevent over load damage to the generator.
  • Page 30 5. For a fully charged battery, the specific gravity range shall be within 1.26 to 1.28. It is recommended to be checked and confirmed every hour. 6. Start the generator. Make sure the green output indicator light (18) comes on. Allow the motor to run for a couple of minutes to warm up prior to connecting any apparatus to the generator.

    • If electrolyte gets on your skin, flush with water. • If electrolyte gets in your eyes, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and call a physician immediately. • Electrolyte is poisonous. If swallowed, drink large quantities of water or milk and follow with milk of magnesia or vegetable oil and call a physician.
  • Page 32 ■Avoid a place exposed to direct sunlight when putting the generator on avehicle. If the generator is left in an enclosed vehicle for many hours, high temperature inside the vehicle could cause fuel to vaporize resulting in a possible explosion. ■Do not drive on a rough road for an extended period with the generator on board.
  • Page 33 5. Slowly pull the starter grip until resistance is felt. At this point, the piston is coming up on its compression stroke and both the intake and exhaust valves are closed. Storing the engine in this position will help to protect it from internal corrosion. (Fig.R).

    28、Air filter It is very important to maintain an air filter in proper condition.
