Thank you for your information. I took the “hood” off my player to see inside. It seems that the capstans aren’t spinning when I push play. But if I roll the flywheel in the back a bit then push play, it works fine; for a little bit. This happens on both cassette player on either side. Would changing out belts be the place to start?
