OPERATIONAL INSTRUCTIONS

Standard Recording

To use the standard, user-controlled recording function, follow these instructions.
1.
Make sure the VOX function is set to "VOX Off" as described on the previous page of
this manual.
2.
Select a file folder by pressing FOLDER.
3.
To begin recording, press REC / STOP
4.
During recording, the REC indicator light and the elapsed time will display on the LCD
screen.
5.
Speak into the built-in microphone or connect an external microphone through the
Microphone Jack.
6.
Press REC / STOP
Note: For best recording results, a recording distance of 5 to 9 inches is suggested.

Voice Activated (VOX) Recording

Voice activation allows recording to be triggered by a voice or other sound.
1.
Press
to enter the Sound menu.
2.
Press
to enter Record Setting.
3.
Press

7.
Press REC / STOP

Recording will begin once sound is detected.
10. If no sound is detected for a few seconds, recording will stop.
11. To stop recording manually, press REC / STOP
Notes:
The first few sounds will activate the recording, but may not actually be recorded.
Avoid too much variation in voice level during recording. Recording will stop
automatically after two (2) seconds if no sound is detected.
For best recording results, a recording distance of 5 to 9 inches is suggested.
