    INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing the PDR300/302 digital voice recorder. Please print out this manual for easy reference. Unpack the unit and make sure all the accessories are put aside so they will not be lost. We recommend that you retain the original carton and packaging materials, should you transport or ship the unit in the future.

    GETTING STARTED Installing the Batteries Remove the battery cover on the back of the unit. Install two (2) R03/AAA batteries (not included).* Replace the battery cover. * Notes: Make sure the polarity (+/-) of the batteries matches the marks inside the battery compartment. Do not mix old and new batteries, carbon and alkaline.

    GETTING STARTED Navigating the Menu The unit must be turned on before all operations are attempted. To enter menu, press and hold OK / MENU for two (2) seconds. Repeatedly press to navigate menu. The menu will scroll in the following order: CONF / DICT (Rec.
  • Page 6 GETTING STARTED Voice Activated Recording (VAR) The Voice Activated Recording (VAR) feature means that with VAR activated the unit is recording only when a sound (voice) activates recording. When there is no sound (voice), the unit will not record. Press and hold OK / MENU for two (2) seconds to enter menu.

    GETTING STARTED Setting the Date Press and hold OK / MENU for two (2) se conds to enter menu. Repeatedly press until DATE dis plays. Press OK / MENU, Year will blink. Press VOL+ or VOL- to increase or decrease to current year. Press once and MONTH will display.

    OPERATIONAL INSTRUCTIONS Select Folder You can select a specific folder (A, B, C, or D) for browsing. Default is folder A. • Press FOLDER / BOOKMARK repeatedly to choose a folder (A, B, C, or D). Select File You can select a specific file for playback. Select the folder first.

    OPERATIONAL INSTRUCTIONS Recording Mode - continued Setting Recording Quality Choose from three (3) recording quality modes – Standard Play (SP), Long Play (LP), and High Quality (HQ). Press RECORDING QUALITY repeatedly to select the desired recording quality under STOP mode. With each choice, the LCD will display remaining available recording time.
