    Section 1 1.0 Introduction This document provides reference information for the evaluation testing of an external USB modem based on Host Signal Processing Data/Fax Modem Technology. The evaluation HSP USB Modem™ eliminates the redundant hardware parts found in most modems today. These include the data pump, a controller, an additional UART and external memory as required in a conventional approach.
