Align the grooves on the discharge chute (2) with the pins on the underside of the discharge cover (1). 3. Lower the discharge chute (2) until the hooks on the mower deck are secured in the openings in the discharge chute (2).

While wearing leather padded gloves, wedge a block of wood between the blade and the mower deck in order to prevent the blade from turning when the nut is being removed.

Clean the mower as described in the previous section. 2. Inspect the blade, and replace it or sharpen it, if required (refer to the Maintenance section).
