Using the tuner

Chapter 7
Using the tuner

Setting the channel step

The tuner has been factory preset to the channel
allocation value for the area in which you bought it. If it is
incorrect for where you're using it, you may experience
reduced sound quality. Check that it is set correctly for
your region or area (ask your local dealer if you're
unsure).
1
Press
RECEIVER to switch the receiver into
standby.
2
Press AM/FM and BAND at the same time.
Switch between:
• 10K STEP – FM 100 kHz, AM 10 kHz
• 9K STEP – FM 50 kHz, AM 9 kHz (default)

Finding a station

The following steps show you how to tune in to FM and
AM radio broadcasts using the automatic (search) and
manual (step) tuning functions. If you already know the
exact frequency of the station you want to listen to, see
Tuning directly to a station below. Once you are tuned to
a station you can memorize the frequency for recall
later—see Memorizing station presets on page 26 for
more on how to do this.
