from
the selected
speed
position
under
load,
tighten
the
Variddve
Handle
Assembly
Locknut
(Page 30_ Key No
29)

BATTERY
AND
TERMINALS
Corrosion
and
dirt
on the
Batte{y
and Terminals
cause
the Battery
to "leak"
power.
LEAD-ACID
BATTERIES
GENERATE
EX_
PLOSIVE GASES. KEEP SPARKS, FLAME,
AND
SMOKING
MATERIALS
AWAY
FROM
BATTERIES.
ALWAYS
SHIELD
EYES AROUND
BATTERIES_
a. Disconnect
BLACK
Battery'
Cable
then
RED
Battmy
Cable
and remove
Battery
from
Tractor.
Wash Battery
with
four
tablespoons
of
baking
soda
to one gatlon
of
water.
NOTE:
BE CAREFUL
NOT TO GET THE SODA
SOLUTION
INTO
THE
CELLS.
Rinse the Battery
with
plain water,
dry and reinstall
on Tractor.
bo Clean
terminals
and
Battery
Cable
ends with
a wire
brush
until
bright_
Replace
Battery
Cables,
connecting
RED Battery
Cable first,
then
BLACK
Battery
Cable to
respective
terminals°
Coat
terminal
connections
with
Vasoline.
Replace
Terminal
Cover.,
