5. Prior to initial use

Make sure that all packaging material has been removed from the outside and inside
of the appliance.
ATTENTION: Check the appliance for any damage. If there is any damage, do
not use the appliance, and contact qualified service personnel.
Clean the appliance and the accessories before using for the first time. This will
remove any debris that might remain from the production process. Remove the
silicon sealing ring from the lid and boil it in water. Dry the sealing ring and grease it
lightly with cooking oil. Replace the sealing ring in the groove ensuring that it is not
twisted and that it fits snugly in the stainless steel lid.

6. Use

1. Preparation
Fill the pot halfway with water, then close the lid and adjust the control valve to position
I. Now heat the cooker until steam is emitted from the control valve. Remove the
pressure cooker from the stove and leave it standing closed for about 10 minutes in
order to remove the smell of new stainless steel.
After the cooker has cooled down, remove the lid and clean the pot thoroughly.
2. Closing the pressure cooker
Please make sure that all the valves are clean, that they move smoothly and easily, and
that the sealing ring fits snugly into the lid.
Close the lid by placing it onto the pot in such a way that the arrow on the lid is in line
with the arrow on the pot handle. Now hold the lid handle and turn it clockwise until it
audibly clicks into place and cannot be moved any further.
3. Heating
When moving the cooker, always hold both handles.
Only heat the cooker on a flat, horizontal hotplate.
When cooking is started, steam comes out of the safety valve window. This is normal,
as there is not enough pressure at this time to close the safety valve. As soon as the
required pressure has been reached, the red cap of the safety valve rises and is
clearly visible in the safety valve window.
Set the control valve to the desired level (see also our recommendations in chapter 9
Cooking time tips.
As soon as steam is emitted from the control valve, gradually reduce the stove
setting until almost no more steam comes out. From this point on, the values
indicated in chapter 9 under cooking time apply.
