Problem
Quality of Cut
Cut is rough.
Inconsistent quality of cut.
Cut is curved or "bowed"
when resawing or cutting
thick stock.
Possible Cause
Characteristics of blade being used.
Cut is forced.
Blade guides not properly aligned.
Blade bent or damaged in one spot.
Grain pattern is not consistent in workpiece.
Blade too narrow.
Improper blade tension.
Blade following internal grain pattern.
Blade guides not properly aligned.
Solution
Use blade with more teeth per inch.
Feed stock more slowly.
Re-align blade guides.
Straighten or replace blade.
Take your time, especially in hard
dense parts of workpiece.
Use wider blade.
Increase tension to proper setting.
Feed stock more slowly.
Re-align blade guides.
