2) Getting Started 2.1) Installing the Battery, SIM Card and Memory Card Your phone comes with a rechargeable Lithium-ion polymer or Lithium-ion battery and is designed to use only manufacturer-specified original batteries and accessories. Battery performance depends on many factors, including network configuration, signal strength, the temperature of the environment in which you operate your phone, the features and/or settings you select and use, items attached to connecting ports, and your voice, data, and other program usage patterns.

2.2) Charging the battery New batteries are supplied partially charged. Before you start using your phone, it is recommended that you install and charge the battery. Some batteries perform better after several charged/ discharged cycles. Only the power adapter and USB data cable provided with your device should be used to charge the phone.

2.3) Installing the SIM card The SIM card contains your phone number, service details, phonebook and messages. Your device supports 3G (WCDMA) SIM cards. 2.5) Powering ON/OFF Powering ON Press the Power ON/OFF button. When you turn on the phone for the first time, you will be prompted to set up your phone. Most SIM cards are pre-set with a PIN code (Personal Identification Number) that is provided by your network operator. When prompted, enter the PIN code. If you enter the wrong PIN three times, the SIM card will be blocked.
3) Getting to know your phone 3.1) Using the Touch Screen You can use your finger to control your phone. The controls on your touch screen changes depending on the tasks you are performing. • Touch the buttons, icons or applications to select items or to open applications. • Touch and hold an item to access available options. • Slide your finger across the screen to scroll up and down or left to right. • Touch and drag an item to move it or to perform other operations. You can also switch the phones screen (such as text input screen, gallery screen) between portrait and landscape mode by orientating the phone in the upright or sideways position.
You can still receive Messages and Voice Calls when the screen is locked. Press the Power ON/ OFF button to re-activate the screen, and then unlock the screen by following the instructions on display. PIN Code protection If your SIM card has a pre-set PIN Code, you will be prompted to input a PIN Code when you first insert it into your phone. The PIN Code may be supplied by your network operator along with the SIM card.

Using the Notification Bar From the Notification Bar, you can access information of the calendar events, new messages, new SMS and on-going activities, such as incoming calls or status of the current call. When a new Notification icon is displayed, touch the Notification Bar on the top of the screen and drag your finger downwards to open the Notice Board. Once in the Notice Board, you can open Notifications with its associated applications or delete all notifications. To close the Notice Board, touch and hold the bottom of the panel of the Notice Board and slide your finger upwards. Extended Home Screen Interface The Home Screen extends to the left and right beyond the display. On the Home Screen page touch and slide your finger horizontally. This provides more space to add shortcuts, gadgets and other items.

Accounts & sync: Allows you to set up the sync settings and add accounts to the phone. Privacy: Allows you to perform a factory data reset on the phone which will erase all data. Storage: Allows you to view the available storage on the Memory card & phone memory and also format the SD Memory card.

5) Managing Contacts 5.1) Importing contact from the SIM card You can import contacts from the SIM card to the Contact List on the phone. 1. On the Home Screen touch the Contacts icon and press the Options button > Import/Export to enter into the Contact List. 2.

Searching for a Contact If the Contact List is very long, there are several ways to find your desired Contact. 1. Slide your finger up and down the screen to browse through the Contacts. 2. Use the scroller on the right-hand side of the screen to go through the Contact List and jump through sections by the letters. 3. Press Options button, select Search and a text box will pop-up. Enter the name or letters of the contact you want to find, then the contact list matches will be displayed on the screen.
6) Messaging 6.1) SMS and MMS You can send text messages (SMS) and multimedia messages (MMS) to other people. The limit for SMS character is 160 characters. If you continue to type the message when the character limit is reached, it will be sent as one text message, this is known as Concatenated SMS.

Composing an MMS 1. On the home screen press the Messaging icon > New Message / Compose new message. 2. Enter a contact number or select the desired recipient from the Contact List. 3. Changing the notification of a new text and multimedia message Press the Menu icon > Ringtone Settings > Sound > Notification ringtone and assign a tone for the incoming message notification. The Browser is completely optimised and has many advanced features, so that you can search the internet freely. Note: You can only search the internet with Active Data (GPRS/WCDMA) or WI-FI connection. Touch the Menu icon > Browser to open the Browser window. Opening a Web Page Touch the URL field at the top of the Browser Interface, and use the keypad to enter a Web address.

Turning ON Bluetooth and making your phone visible (discoverable) Touch the Menu icon> Settings > Wireless & networks to access the Wireless & network settings options. The Bluetooth icon will be displayed in the Notification Bar. Bluetooth settings: Allows you to manage the connection and set up device names and enable the visibility of your phone for other Bluetooth devices.
Un-pairing a Bluetooth device You can disconnect a paired device with your phone. In the Bluetooth devices section, press and hold the device name to unpair. Sending and receiving files via Bluetooth You can use Bluetooth to share Pictures, Videos or Music Files with your family and friends. You can use Bluetooth to transfer information between your phone and another Bluetooth-enabled device such as a phone or computer.
