IMPORTANT Lubricate felt washer assembly, gasket inside cap, and check valve before initial use, and after each use. Fig. 1 2. Unscrew tank cap and remove strainer. Apply a coating of 5 or 10 weight oil to the tank cap O-ring and check valve.

Your failure to oil, clean check valve, and maintain breather hole open to allow air into the tank, can cause the tank to collapse and crack, due to vacuum created by pump. 1.
