SmartZone Radio Operations
Transmitting (Trunked Modes Only)
•
Turn on your radio,select channel and listen for
activity on that talkgroup.
•
If you hear no activity, press and hold the micro
phone PTT button.
Do one of the following:
•
If you hear three quick tones, or if you hear no
tone and the red XMIT (transmit) indicator
lights steadily, then proceed with your message
(talk).
Release the PTT button to receive (Listen)
OR
•
If you hear a continuous low-pitched tone, the
system is busy. release the PTT button.
WAIT
•
you will hear three quick tones, channel clear
•
press and hold the microphone PTT button
•
the red XMIT (transmit) indicator lights stead-
ily, then proceed with your message (talk).

DO NOT replace the battery in any area labeled “Hazardous Atmosphere” NOTE: If your Radio is programmed with volatile –key Retention, encryption keys will be retained for Approximately 30 seconds after battery removal.
