WIRELESS PHOTOELECTRIC SMOKE ALARM
Photoelectric smoke alarms are generally more effective at detecting smoldering fires which smolder for hours
before bursting into flame. Sources of these fires may include cigarettes burning in couches or bedding.

This smoke alarm requires constant working 9-volt battery to operate properly. This smoke alarm WILL NOT
work if DC power is not connected or has failed or been interrupted for any reason AND the battery is
removed, drained or improperly connected. DO NOT use any other kind of battery except as specified. DO
NOT connect this smoke alarm to any other type of smoke alarm or auxiliary device, except those listed in
this manual.

    The Test button accurately tests all smoke alarm functions. Do not use any other test method. Test smoke alarm weekly to ensure proper operation. DO NOT remove or disconnect battery to quiet unwanted alarms. This will remove your protection. Open windows or fan the air around smoke alarm to silence it Observe and follow all local and national electrical and building codes for installation.

If this is not practical, mount no closer than 4 inches from a wall or corner.

    HOW TO INSTALL THIS ALARM This Alarm is designed to be mounted on any standard wiring junction box up to a 4-inch (10 cm) size, on either the ceiling or wall (if allowed by local codes). WARNING! Make sure the Alarm is not receiving excessively noisy power. Examples of noisy power could be major appliances on the same circuit, power from a generator or solar power, light dimmer on the same circuit or mounted near fluorescent lighting.
  • Page 5 FOLLOW THE ID SETUP STEPS Remove the battery. Press and hold the button for a minimum of 10 seconds. Find the 5-position dipswitch located on the back of each device. Select one of the units. You will define the ID of your system by positioning the switches of the dipswitch in a random pattern.

    Cover your nose and mouth with a cloth (preferably damp). Take short, shallow breaths. Meet at your planned meeting place outside your home, and do a head count to make sure everybody got out safely. Call the Fire Department as soon as possible from outside. Give your address, then your name. Never go back inside a burning building for any reason.
