NTP

Secondary Server

Figure 120. Send NTF Detail - Secondary Server
Allows you to define an alternative of forwarding to a secondary
notification addressee.
Note: As a matter of principle, a secondary notification addressee
is not necessary, but it's an enhancement of the redundancy
of your Network.
The Network Time Protocol (NTP) is a standard for synchronizing
clocks in computer systems via packet-based communications net-
works.
The A850 supports acting as both NTP server (provides the system
time to other NTP Clients) and NTP client (fetches the system time
from a NTP Server). It supports both permanent and dial-up net-
working connections to the NTP servers.
Note: For example, the Gateway might get the system time from
an NTP server using a dial-up connection, and in parallel,
act as a timeserver on the local ethernet.
Public NTP servers:
pool.ntp.org – public pool of NTP servers
europe.pool.ntp.org – public pool of NTP servers in
Europe
de.pool.ntp.org – public pool of NTP servers in Germany
ntp.lanzl.net – NTP pool member
