Multicasting in AM or FM mode
The Vision Free HD Radio has multicast capability. This allows radio stations to have more than
one station for a specific frequency. For each HD Radio station frequency there are up to eight
available multicasts or additional stations. Most stations broadcasting with an HD Radio transmitter
have at least one additional broadcast on what is referred to as HD2. The display will show the
following and an announcement will be made stating HD1 Acquired. Once an HD1 is acquires you
can tune the seek knob one turn to the right and listen for station identifier and announcement for
HD2 Acquired:

Note: To find out what station is currently playing, press and release SEEK knob and radio
will announce currently selected and displayed station and station call letters as well as HD if
available.
Note: If HD Radio signal is weak, Radio will announce Weak HD Signal indicating radio may
need to be repositioned or HD signal lost is HD Radio transmission signal is too weak to
maintain Digital HD Radio. Radio will revert to the analog signal if receiving HD1 station and
will lose digital programming altogether if HD2, HD 3 or above is selected.
Note: Radio will display and announce linking when tuned either directly to an HD multicast
station or if tuning down the frequency and selecting an HD2 or 3 station first before tuning to
the HD1 station.
