    IMPORTANT PRECAUTION Before using the Shintaro External Card Reader, please read these instructions and save them for later reference. Before installing the Shintaro External Card Reader to the computer, please read the following user guide. In some operating systems, the driver software must be installed prior to operation.

    GENERAL INFORMATION The Shintaro USB 3.0 External Card Reader is ideal for high speed data transmitting. If the host PC does not feature a USB 3.0 controller, Shintaro PCI-E (SHUSB3PCIE) and ExpressCard (SHUSB3EX) adapters are available from your Shintaro stockist.

    SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS • A PC or notebook with one available USB SuperSpeed 3.0 port. PACKAGE CONTENTS • Shintaro External Card Reader • One USB 3.0 cable • Driver disc with user manual FRONT VIEW Caution: The external card reader provides five slots for different types of memory cards application. Each memory card must be inserted into the correct slot.

    CARD FORMATS The xD slot is located in top-right of front bezel. This slot is located in the middle of front bezel, it is labeled “SDXC/SD/MMC” which can accept Secure Digital card (SD), mini SD, Multi Media Card or RS MMC etc.
  • Page 8 Note 2: When inserting the Mini SD memory card, you should align it to the left of the slot as best. M2/Micro SD The Micro SD (also called T-flash). The slot is labeled as “M2/Micro SD” which accepts Micro SD and M2 memory cards without the need of an adapter. This slot is labeled as “CF”...

    MS/MS Duo This slot labeled as “MS/MS Duo” accepts Memory stick, MS Pro, MS Duo, MS Pro Duo, and MS Micro memory cards. Indicator Description ON: It will light up when memory card is inserted. Flash: It will flash while data is transmitting.

    ICON PROGRAM INSTALLATION After you install the external card reader you will then need to install the Shintaro USB 3.0 Card Reader Icon Program. Windows XP/VISTA/7 Insert the program disc into your CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive. Click the folder “IconMan_R_V1.20_(xD)”. Click The file “IconMan_R_V1.20_(xD)”.
