and R/T models, and the system seamlessly transitions between rear-wheel drive and AWD with no driver intervention. The system provides power on demand between the front and rear
differentials as needed. When AWD is not required, the system automatically disconnects the front axle and opens the transfer case from the drivetrain to reduce friction and rotational
mass and maximize fuel efficiency. AWD is automatically triggered under a number of scenarios: when wheel slip is detected, AutoStick mode is engaged, the ESC
system is turned

off, the windshield wipers are activated, or the temperature is below 37º . Chrysler Group LLC is the only manufacturer to offer AWD with an active transfer case and front axle disconnect.
AWD is available on V6 models (SXT, SXT Plus) equipped with the new 8-speed transmission as well as V8 models (R/T, R/T Plus, R/T Max) with the 5-speed transmission.
