Darning with the straight stitch
Insert the darning foot:
Set the needle at its highest position and
push the pin of the darning foot fully into hole
C. When you do this, guide fork G places
itself around the presser bar. Wire E must be
behind fixing screw F. Now tighten screw D.
Darning position:
Lower the presser bar lifter and push it lightly
to the rear. This positions the presser bar lifter
into notch E (darning position).
Place the darning work in the darning hoop.
Lower the feed dog.
Draw up the bobbin thread and hold the
threads when you start sewing.
Darn over the damaged area by moving the
part evenly in the required direction. When
doing so, move the part in shallow curves.
This prevents tearing of the darn later.
When you have stitched evenly over the
darning area, turn the fabric by 90 degrees
and darn over the damaged area again.
You determine the stitch length for this work
yourself, by moving the part back and forth.
TIP: If small knots appear on the reverse side,
this means you have been moving the part too
slowly.
