• Always unplug the power cord from the AC outlet before
you unplug it from the CD-3640.

Using Batteries

Your player can use eight C batteries (not supplied) for power.
For the best performance and longest life, we recommend Ra-
dioShack alkaline batteries.
Cautions:
• Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recom-
mended type.
• Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of batter-
ies (standard, alkaline, or rechargeable), or rechargeable
batteries of different capacities.
Hint: For the easiest battery installation, turn the CD-3640 face
down on a flat surface.
Follow these steps to install batteries.
1. Press down on the two tabs above the battery compart-
ment cover, then pull out the cover to remove it.
