5. Troubleshooting for SmileCAM
If you are under one or more conditions below, please follow the directions using
SmileCAM. All these problems come from the conflict between system components and
USB interface.
1.
Windows 98 User: Download the wucsp.exe and patch OS with it.
2.
Windows 98Se User: Download the Win98SE-patch.exe and patch OS with it.
If your system's CPU is AMD 350MHz or faster, do that surely.
3.
VIA main board Chipset: Download the Via-patch.exe.
Make new directory and uncompress Via-patch.exe in the directory.
Then, run setup.exe which is one of the uncompressed files.

During or After installing SmileCAM, there may be some troubles as follows.
Do as directed.
1. Message box "Found new hardware" is not appeared after plugging USB jack of
SmileCAM into a USB Port for the first time.
Check usability of USB ports. Check list is as follows.
>>
Setting ROM BIOS: If 'PCI Control' in "USB Interface" had been set 'Disabled', change it to
set up 'Enabled'(There's a difference between BIOS manufactures).
>>
Checking Operating System: USB support is not available under Windows NT(ver. 3.5,
4.0) and Windows 95 Versions lower than OSR 2.1.
>>
Checking Device Manager: In Device Manager on control panel, check if USB Root Hub
and Host Controller are properly installed. If not, reinstall them. And if there is/are any
collision(s) with other device resources, change their settings to fix them.
2. After Installing the SmileCAM SU-320 driver, video Image is not displayed on ezWebCam21
or ezNetmeeting.
>>
Checking Device Manager: In Imaging Devices in Device Manager on control panel, check
if "Dual Mode USB Camera Plus" is properly installed . If not, uninstall and reinstall it.
>>
Checking on Amcap: Run Amcap.exe included in Directory ezNetmeeting installed. If video
image is displayed on Amcap, Retry ezWebCam21 or ezNetmeeting and set up video options
(Camera selection, Format, Video Size, and etc.) as in manual.
>>
Check available System Resources: Even though all things done as above, you couldn't
see video image without any error message, than check available System Resources on your
system information panel. You have to obtain available resources more then 65% of total(this
clause is not applicable to Windows 2000).
>>
Checking DirectX and Reinstallation: If the DirectX is not working properly this may affect
the video image. Check it with dxdiag.exe(lies in Program Files=> DirectX=> setup directory)
If there is any problem with DirectX, download from www.microsoft.com and reinstall it
